Got a lot of detail, could be a nice one to have.

Tammy has always put out excellent and well detailed models. Probably 75% of all models I have done have been Tamiya and I have always had the utmost respect for them...until they came out with that totally inaccurate 1;16 M-51 which they misnamed Super Sherman. [:'(] Now if they would copy thier 1;35 M-51 in 1;16 and also do this one in 1;16....that would be great. This one shows they are keeping up with new mods to older tanks.

No doubt about it the 1/35 scale crowd is blessed with some of the best looking armor kits available. We can only dream.

someone was selling a hooben t-55 that was built with those mods on ebay, almost hit the buy now button but he was asking way too much money.

That IS nice but so is the stock T-54/55 too. I'd take either one if they were not so $$$ and so much work.

Last time I saw him he was open to sensible offers - the exchange rate is as about as good right now as I have seen in a while.

Thought I tried to send him a pm on price negotiation but never heard back.  I've moved on since then, too many projects on the back burner like
everyone else.  Thanks for the heads up though Mart.

If you don't mind me asking ... how much was it? It's a beauty I tell ya!

You can just PM me the amount if you want. I'm just curious and never saw the auction.

I have to say that it is an outstanding model when you see it in person, but I also couldn't justify buying it for $$$ to have to smash it apart to fit battle electronics [&o]

Iain never did name his price out aloud, Dave was interested but a deal wasn't done as far as I know - Not sure what happened to it in the finish to be honest, most of us were so in awe of it that we didn't think we could afford to make an offer that wasn't insulting... [&o]

Dunno if its the same guy but in issue number 60 of AFV Modeller (check AFVmodeller.com for back copies) a guy called Bruno Carsuzaa converted a Hooben T55 into an Enigma, full build piccies are in there with a fair amout of scratch building, looked bloody awesome tbh.

Pricing custom work is always tricky but I think he priced it quite well.

There was an immense amount of work put into that tank, since he tends to make each item individually and not pattern produce. Then you have the paint job on top.

There is someone who sells their Naval models for hundreds and occasionally thousands of pounds on eBay. His work is very good and sells very well. <br type="_moz"/>

Unfortunatly this T55 seen on eBay is not accurate. I must admit it was a really nice work indeed but most of the additionnal armor plates were out of scale.
It is not the same Enigma you can admire in AFV modeller, this last one is just perfect (incredible paint job and very accurate).
