Default Tamiya Gravel Hound... 2WD?

Hi everyone,

I've had the Gravel Hound for a couple of months now, and it's really cool and all that...

However, every time I'm on my way home from bashing it, the only thought in my head is "more speed". Since I can't afford to get a new motor, I'm thinking of removing the drive shaft and turning it into a 2WD. I've done some reading on here, and I saw that a few people have done this, or at least offered this advice. Is there anyone who's actually done it? If not with a Gravel Hound, with another 1/10 off-road car... Is there anything I need to worry about?

Thanks a lot in advance,

Dany

Default RE: Tamiya Gravel Hound... 2WD?

I've never done it to that chassis however i've done it to The older Ta01/ta02 type, no danger on those two of hurting anything. Prob the same with the gravel hound.

However with the ones i've used i seen no increase in performance. If fact the performance actually got worst because the chassis was designed for 4wd, usually will handle like poo in front or rear drive only.
