Default F8F Bearcat Gear

Anyone have any first hand knowledge of the Century Jet
Models articulating gear for the 1/5 Bates F8F (CJM #46812)? I'd like to hear some feedback or another option on scale gear before shelling out $800 for a pair. They sure look nice and certainly beat straight legs for scale... but short of making my own is there a second choice or something?

Remember, you can only tie the low level altitude record.
