direct comparison
Has any one done a direct comparison between the da-50 and the Brillelli 46. I know that they are with in a couple of oz of each other. I am looking for actual numbers comparisons. I do know the cost difference. I am looking for the best performance for my engine. The engine will be going into a Hanger 9 27% extra 260
thank you

RE: direct comparison
Hey farminred,
Looks like you aren't far away from where I call home. Where do you fly up there? There has been a lot of talk on here lately about the 50 class gas engine. there are many good options for you to choose from, hopefully everyone speaks up.

RE: direct comparison
Well it really depends what type of flying you do.
Furst off the 46 is not as strong as a DA 50. Don't get me wrong the 46 is a strong engine for sure... but you are comparing it to one of the best 50s out there.
The 260 is a pretty light plane.. I flew the GP Extra 300 with a 46 and it had power to spare. The 260 is an even lighter plane so I dont see how you would be disappointed with the performance of the 46 in that plane.
You will be able to do all acrobatics and mild 3-d without any issues. So I think you will be fine... that 260 is not really a 3d plane anyhow.
You also have the option of the Brillelli 60 which is more powerful than a DA and about the same weight... but honestly that would be way overkill on that plane imho and I like power
