RE: need new motor wanna know how many turns to get
If you get an 11 or 12 turn motor you will notice a substantial improvement in accelleration and speed provided you gear correctly. I went from a 15 to a 12 turn and noticed quite a bit more power.
You will also notice how much more quickly those 11 turn motor brushes and commutator wear out.

ORIGINAL: lax195
i would go with a 12. i always went 1 turn higher than what the esc could handle.

Edit: About the batteries I would suggest a set of matched GP3300 they can be had for around $35 and up.What charger are you using?

RE: need new motor wanna know how many turns to get
oh
i was just used some old nicd timer charger
it will be fine if i get the math done with the time needed to charge
oh i was thinking on these batteries
tell me what you think
http://www.batteryspace.com/index.as...ROD&ProdID=215
my charger will work fine right
i think it charges at 5 amp
that might be a little much
but it charges like 8 year old nich
so i dont think it'll hurt any if i get a new one

RE: need new motor wanna know how many turns to get
I have never used those packs but have seen that link posted many times on this forum.
I'm not sure on the charger either If I were you I would upgrade to a peak charger.
Another good hopup would be deans connectors they are cheap and if you are good at soldering easy to install.
Also if you get more nicd battery definetley get a dis-charger.

RE: need new motor wanna know how many turns to get
does nicd have any atvantage over nimh besides da price
i have a discharger right now
i might get a smart charger just for the nimh's
i just dont know if my batteries right now are being used at there full potential due to "memory" effect

RE: need new motor wanna know how many turns to get
i really doubht your taking full advantage of your new motor with those batteries and that charger.
you can get a decent deal (mid $20.00's) on decent sanyo 3000hv(nimh) packs if you look hard enough and a decent peak charger will run about 50 dollars.you can even find some good 20 dollar range sanyo 2400 nicads.
either way you go i think you'll have a much more enjoyable time with decent batts.

RE: need new motor wanna know how many turns to get
ya those batteries dont look like they will be very good with a 12 turn motor... you could excpect to pay about $50 for a pair of good 3000 mah batteries

then i might get some new batteries and a charger
i dunno
i was thinking on the same batteries posted above and a smart charger
that is if there isn't a real diff between cheap batteries and expensive ones
tell me what you think

RE: need new motor wanna know how many turns to get
well there's definetly a difference its just how much your willing to comprimize.imo you should stick with any cell made by sanyo, panasonic, or gp in the 2400 to 3300 range
.nicad or nimh, there's arguements both ways but i would try to get into nimh's.but you must have a peak charger for nimh's.they are very sensitive to overchargeing.

RE: need new motor wanna know how many turns to get
Hey guys! I'm also interested in getting some new batteries and a charger. I think i found some batteries that I can use, but what about that smart charger as mentioned earlier? Is it any good, because I'm not racing and I don't won't to spend a lot? Thanks.
