Belt Drive
Been using these for years, will start anything up to a 396 Chevy. Mounted it to a Sullivan Dynatron starter. I watch the guys with electronic ignition engines try to show how easy it is to start them, and cant help but wonder why? I aint putting my hand in a big prop if I have another choise. Have seen guys flip till they are sweating and have to take a break, then come back and do it some more. Have also seen a few with more than 1 black and blue fingernail from a prop strike. Why not just stick the starter on it? Am I missing something?

I ordered one direct from them last year. It starts everything from my Saito 180 to my 3W-100 twin with no problems. It has been a great starter but does require 2 hand operation. The company also sells the Dynatron starters and you can get the complete set up from them ready to plug into your battery/batteries. You can run it on 12 or 24 volts . They even sent a print and instructions that show how to build from 1/4" plywood a small 12/24volt battery box with switch to switch between 12 / 24 volts.

Starter for G-62
I've been using a Sullivan double handle 651 starter. You have to use it on 24 volts for the G-62 though. I'm using two of the smaller 5 amp Tower sealed batteries for juice. Cranks it all day without a need for a charge, but makes a much lighter flight box than 2 lawn mower batteries. My 62 would crank on 12 volts, but only 4 or 5 times. Then the voltage was down enough to where it didn't have enough umph! I think you have to order this starter direct from Sullivan, I haven't seen it listed in any catalogs. I've been using it for 3 or 4 years with no problems.

Miller Reduction gear starter assembly
I've been using one for about 5 years now attached to a Sullivan Hi Tork Starter operated on 24 volts. It has started everything from a 6.0 Husky down to a G-23. I have never had any problems and use 2 , 7 amp gel cells in series for power. I've attended many 3 day fly-ins, flown often, and never had a starter fail for lack of power. I paid $ 99.00 for the Miller adapter with a large blue rubber starter cone.
I would recommend this product to anyone using gas engines in the 100cc range.

LISTEN TO THESE GUYS. I'VE HAD MINE FOR ABOUT 5 YRS. NOW AND I LOVE IT. IT NEVER FAILS TO START ANYTHING I'VE USED IT ON. DON'T KNOW ABOUT A BIG BLOCK CHEVY BUT I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED. I'LL HAVE TO KEEP IT IN MIND. IN SHORT, YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THE MILLER RC SET-UP.

RC Miller Persuader
I purchased one of these a couple months ago at the West Coast AMA show in Pasadena and love it. I bought the wood kit carrying case that holds 2 12 volt batteries. See pic. This has the option of using either 12 volt or 24 when starting.

RE: anyone have a Miller RC Persuader??
I have been using one for about 7 yrs or more without problems. It is hooked to two gell cells in a starter box.
I took a plastic tool box, put two gell cells in one end and added 3 sets of plugs. 2-12 volts (1 per battery) and one 24-volt. Then both my starters fit in the box with it for transport. Right out to the flightline without problem. It starts anything asked of it without hesistation.

Here is mine, I use a switch to switch between 12 (parallel) and 24 (series) . I switch to 12 volts (parallel) for charging.
It will start anything.
I got mine direct from Miller, with the starter fitted.
I took the Dynatron Switch and cable tied it to the handle. One handed operation.

Why not send the engine to RCIgnition for an ignition retro-fit... Probably cost you less in the scheme of things.

Yep, did that, bought one along with the box and insert for prop nuts. Saw it at Castle last year and couldn't find out how to buy it after I got home. The thing is awsome!
