the stock shocks are among the best, most alloy shocks are crap, just stick with stock but change out the oil for some silicone oil

what kinds of surfaces do you run your truck most, do you like big jumps?

i have black springs with 30 weight silicone oil, i also dont run any spacers in my shocks, i run mostly off road on very rough ground, i also do very silly jumps

do what i do with the eight stock shocks take four springs off four shock bodies and put 25wt oil in the shocks with the springs and 32wt in the "struts" aka the shock bodies then for renforced streighth put threadlocking tape around the shock threads. this suspention dramaticly improves handling and never bottoms out.

no but ill try to get a pic this week it runs pretty good
but u must be weary of the leaky shocks there a pain but if u put the thread locking tape on with that stock orange o-ring the will NOT be any problems at all

thats no good. your truck should bottom out on most medium to large jumps, this takes stress off of your shocks. what do you think the skid plates are for? 1/8 th scale buggies bottom out all the time and thier the fastest things on the track. ......chris

im not saying that it is not possible to set your shocks so stiff that your truck doesnt bottom out, im saying it causes unnessesary stress on them. honestly, so what if your truck bottoms out? thats why there are skid plates. besides, trucks 'usualy' handle better when the shocks are set on the softer side.

and dont get yourself worked up so fast. make sure you understand what ppl are saying before you decide to 'prove them wrong'. thats another way for these infamous flame wars get started.
