It effects every Savage as long as it has the stock tank. If you can tune your engine very good, then you can minimize the effect, but it's still there.

What it says, when the truck get half tank on fuel, the pressure buildup drops so much, it leans out the motor because it is now relying on gravity more than the engine.

It has something to do with that stepped shelf portion of the tank that leans over the TVP.

The New Era fuel tank works great, but cost a bit much.

Yup. The shelf is what causes it to have the half tank lean issue. When it gets to half tank, the amount of exhaust pressure pushing down on the fuel remaing is cut because the surface area is smaller, so the engine has to suck harder to get fuel, therefore it leans out.

Because reengineineering the whole tank would have probably cost close to 100,000 maybe more.

it differs by pipe/engine/fuel tank combination

I juuust bought one too for my newest build: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=200133734532 - try to get one with the posts included, it's a 125cc tank with no shelf.

Yea most people think well its just a small plastic tank how much could it cost to change. Well a plastic mold probably makes 10 at a time or more a mold of that size would cost roughly 60,000 with labor and engeneering. Now to change it is usually cheeper, but requires alot of time and reengineneering. Considering they would need to move the mounting points and have it so the tank was large enough, but without that shelf. No real room on the savage for that unless the remodel the entire thing. I see where they are coming from its the if it works dont fix it scenario .
