stock traxxas emaxx 3905 (brushed), can use lipo?
Hi I just picked up a used traxxas emaxx 3905. It is the brushed edition and came with two 8.4V nimh batteries. Can I run 2S lipo packs in this instead of nimh?
I just do not want to ruin the electronics at all.
Thanks

Thanks t9dragon
the only problem though i guess is that I Can only use up to 2S lipo (7.4V) so it would be less than the nimh (8.4v) ..

Hey t9dragon
This is an example of an LVC you are talking about right? http://69.161.220.47/index.asp?PageA...OD&ProdID=4383
Do you recommend one best for emaxx?

just because it has a lower voltage doesn't mean it will be slower with lipo's. they hit harder and dump power alot more consistantly than nimhs. they are also lighter too, which helps out too.

I haven't used the one in your link. I have used the 2cell LVC from Novak http://teamnovak.com/products/lipo_c...ule/index.html
Running lipos will give you more consistant power and longer run times.

off topic question..
will this brushless esc/motor kit fit in the emaxx without modding it, and will it be powerful enough?

Hi t9dragon
I would prefer the US due to shipping costs. I'd like to ultimately get it for about $100 like this set..
But if its a bit more like $20 more, i'd be willing to pay..
Still a good price

When a 2s lipo is fully charged, it is 8.4v. Not sure why they are said to be 7.4, each cell charges to 4.2v fully, not 3.7.
As for the brushless, don't skimp, get a nice system that won't develop problems later...
idk just a thought.</p>

I have heard they either work great, or not at all. For me, if you get one, and it doesn't work, you buy another one, and you are almost the price of a Mamba Monster.
Also, the 80amp sysetems seem small. The Mamba Monsters are 120amps, and the Tekin RX8 is 210amps.
You get what you pay for.

Hi All
just wanted to update you on my progress..
so instead of just getting the LVC and using the brushed system.. I went all out and got a novak HV PRO brushless system with 7.5T motor..
The truck hauls ass now!
here is a video (poor quality sorry) of my first run with it..
