Glow Plugs
I hear that sometimes glow plugs can increase proformence and make starting easier. I am currently running sidewinder 30%, what would be the best plug for this fuel and possibly if you know a link to them post that as well.
Thanks

RE: Glow Plugs
I use a medium to cold plug,
Everytime i use a hot plug, it doesn't tune well and the plugs blow quick, i've had very good luck with colder plugs on 30%

OS LC3 or Mcoy # 59 are the 2 plugs I have found that work best....whatever you get just make sure it is a hot plug.

RE: Glow Plugs
l run medium mc-coy plugs there good, 2 dollars dearer on average , worth it l recon.30% is a very high nitro % to run, l would hope your in snow conditions for that sort of fuel, 20% is better and all these nitro engines are designed around 15% nitro content, they are not tested for advertising on 15%, thats probly a 30%ish mix but a nitro engine is designed for 15% nitro. Some companies even tell you this in there manuals, like kyosho, l would consider changing fuel, do you burn out glow plugs oftern on 30 % ?
If you have had good running/tuning and have run 30% all its life, and even broke the engine in on 30%, do not change it keep using it, but if its something newish, and you have just started using 30%, switch back ASAP.
Its not good for an engine to switch fuels, you should really use one % of fuel for the engines total life, or tuning can be come DOH DOH DOH !
Trying to squeeze power from a fuel % over a good tune is a very bad thing.20% will utterly rock tuned right, 25% is nutz, 30% is instant wheelies on trx 3.3, so lm wondering why you run 30% mix ? Racing maybe ? Or wheelie king ! LOL !
Yea cold plugs dude though l would try a medium first, if the temps are good, use medium, this will have the effect of less stalls when you pull up to idle, so medium if you can cold if its getting to hot.

RE: Glow Plugs
Well, the bigger the engine the higher the nitro is recommended, so on a .28 i wouldn't run anything lower then 30%
I used to run 20% on an .18 engine but moved to 30% engine is sitting around 7 gallons or so still fine,
I guy was at the track trying to run his 3.3 on 10%... it was a joke,
IMO - go 30% you'll never look back

RE: Glow Plugs
Well the guy who posted lives and florida, running conditions here are totally diffrent then canada,
So in florida you run a medium to cold plug on 30%
I'll leave it at that.

RE: Glow Plugs
Ill agree on both points made here Im using an axial .28rr with 20% blue thunder and im using an os LC3 plug and it laster break-in +5 tank. so i will agree the OS plugs are great. Axial recommended that i use a cold plug when its warmer outside and hotter plug when its colder out. so i run by those rules and they seem to work well i can get 11 tanks out of OS LC3 hot plug and the axial iridium cold plug last about 7tanks
