engine mount question?
i'm expecting my new RB here soon so i decided to do a light break down of the revo and check it over. turns out my engine mount is broken. so i'm going to get a new one here soon...but i cant seem to get the old one off. i wanted to know if u have to take the rear bulkhead off to get the engine mount off? cause its wrapped around under the bulk and it looks like it'll just slide out but it wont cause of where its placed. it wont move either way. pics would be appriciated. thanks

RE: engine mount question?
another question...i took the bulk off and got the engine mount off...and i decided to open up my diffs and take a look...are they supposed to be filled with oil or just coated in it? because i always thought they were submersed in oil...which is why u would buy different thicknesses...but i could easily be wrong. i've never seen a dirtier place on my revo than inside the bulk and outside the diffs...its just coated in dirt and dust!

RE: engine mount question?
actually revo diffs are supposed to be filled with diff lube,if i remember right, there should be a little gasket ththat seals the the diff cup when you attatch it to the ring gear, may have gone bad or just worked loose letting it leak

From the box, Revo diffs come with the grease you found in yours. The diffs have all the seals in place already and are set-up to run with silicon oil, so all you have to do is take them apart, clean the grease out and fill them with the oil of your choice. Traxxas sells a 3-pack of diff oils in 20-30-50K viscosities, or you can use another manufacturer's oil in the viscosity of your choice.
Now what weight to run in which axle.... that opens a whole new can of worms, depending on the guy you are talking to, how the truck is driven, racer or basher, traction and terrain.......
I bash and I like 30k in the front and 50k in the rear. Many folks like the 30k and 50k but swap the front and rear.... 50 in the front, 30 in the rear...... experiment until you find the set-up you like best.

You can run diff oil in only one axle if you want to until you get the itch to open the front diff and fill it with oil.
The whole point of running diff oil over grease is to tune how the diffs perform. Thicker oil will make the diff work more like it's locked, but still let it unload when a certain amount of traction is reached. You can try different weights of oil until the diff operates the way you want it to. If none of that really matters to you or you are happy with how your truck works now, grease might be just what your after.
It's an individual preference kinda thing, and if you don't like messing with the diffs all the time, grease might be the way to go. Or not, that's the beauty of tuning. Make it work the way you want it to, or just run it and have fun with the set-up you got.

seeing how you have it out,go ahead clean it up and regrease it.it cant hurt every gallon or so you put thru it to do a little maintainance and regrease them, cant hurt
