Default ** Begginer Helicopter Question BLADE CP **

lately ive been noticing that when i first lift off my heli does a spin and then maintains a hover. How do i stop this spin?its annoying. I have messed with the proportion with no luck, and my Gryo is set to 3/4. What do i do to fix this. Thanks

Even with proportional mixing and correct gyro setting you may have to feed in a little left or right as you are lifting off, the same goes for landing because of rotor head torque. Remember that this tail rotor is on it's own electric motor and has a spin up lag (enough to cause your problem).

Regards, Bill

once a helicopter is set up, does not mean its going to stay that way for the remainder of its life..bonk here' bonk there.. bad landing.. sofa strike.. whatever.. you have to moniter it many ways. And Maintain it . its part of the hobby..

There is an explination with pictures in the manual the blade came with when it comes to adjusting the pitch on the blades.

The helicopter will start that behavior as the tail rotor motor starts to fail. If you have the proportional turned all the way up and it still tends to rotate in counter-clockwise direction - try a new tail rotor motor.

to stop it you have to counter beforehand with the rudder stick (so as you increase throtle you should be pushing the rudder stick too). the tail probably cannot spool up fast enough to counter with throtle input unless you do it manually before the heli gets light. rate gyro can only do so much.

With the headholding gyro i can fly my helicopter with 1 hand from take off until landing it wont budge unless i control it to. i dont think you will get that luxury without another heli or going seperates.
