Dle35r to be mounted in a ESM Stuka
Does anyone have any advice or instructions on how to properly mount this engine on this specific plane?. Mainly I am trying to figure how to make sure it is centered so that the spinner will be centered as it exits the cowl and so I won't have to cut much of the cowl to make it fit.
Thanks

RE: Dle35r to be mounted in a ESM Stuka
The dowel and plywood template method works great.
Take a piece of plywood large enough to mark the mounting holes from a template. Drill guide holes where the bolts will go. Also drill 3/8" hole in the center where the prop shaft is in relation to the mounting holes. Insert a 3/8" dowel long enough protrude from the cowl.
You simply line the dowel in the center of the cowl opening. That will give you the proper locations to drill the bolt holes in the firewall because you already marked and drilled them in the template.
It could be a little tricky trying to line it up this way because you have so little room to maneuver with the small cowl opening on the ESM Stuka cowl..
There are pictures of this method here on RCU somewhere but I can't find them.
