Revo owners?
I’ve been doing some reading about the Revo. And the more I read about it the more I want it. It just seems like a really bad ass MT. Having two steering servos, coming with a battery pack and charger, being able to change the shocks from 90mm to 120mm. But I was wounding about one thing. After all the reading I did on here, how durable is it. It seems like every one who does not own one says its just a racer, and I think im reading the ones that do own one say its a good basher. I was woundering if I have been reading what I think I have been. I asking this cause if I do get one I would like to do some raing and bashing. O and how good are the stock steering servo's. Good enuff to keep or need to be replaced.

RE: Revo owners?
To be honest, those who don't own Revos... or those who have never owned Revos... they're talking out of their backside. I don't speak about the T-maxx. I don't know how good the T-maxx is. I know I would choose a Revo over a T-maxx, however I don't know anything about the quality of the T-maxx. So, I SHUT MY MOUTH ABOUT THE T-MAXX. Anyways, with that rant done... I have seen the Revo put in both bashing and racing situations. I do not race, so I do not know how good they are for racing. I do know other Revo owners that race, and they love the Revo. I only bash. I am very proud to be a Revo owner. I bash the crap out of my Revo, and it still runs... (when I have a good glowplug in it... ) I believe the Revo is one of the toughest trucks around. I would recommend the Revo. WITH THAT BEING SAID... if you are new to R/C, keep the 2.5r until you get better, then change it for one of the better ones... (OS 18tm, PICCO .21, Sirio .23, RB TM323, etc). If you are NOT new to R/C... you're probably going to want to get a different engine. They are a pain to tune.... one of the toughest I've seen, anyways. I am just running mine into the ground, and will be getting an RB TM323 at the end of the month.

The suspensions great and its just plain easier to work on. Have you looked at the market place lately? I see several people trying to sell or trade their LST's for Revo's, which might I add cost at least 100$ more than the Revo. There are a few manufacturing problems though that some have had with their Revo's nothing major and Traxxas sends out new parts no questions asked. Traxxas has an 800# tech support which is cool and they also have a forum check it out http://monster.traxxas.com
If your looking for a reliable truck get the Revo, if your looking for a truck that's going to be around get the Revo, if you want a truck that comes as a real RTR get the Revo!
Anyone who talks down on a revo is because they bought the other truck LOL!

RE: Revo owners?
I am a Revo owner. I dont drive it but a few days a week but when i do...better watch out. I have only broken a driveshaft on my revo. Thats after a bad landing off a 20ft dirt mound. Other than that, the only problem i have is bending the header. But thats what happens when you drive without the body. So in short, buy a Revo. You wont regret it

How are the stock steering servo's? I love the idea of having two. But are they any good or do they need to be swaped out like most RTR's

I Bought my new Revo a week ago, and just coming back now after engine break-in procedure.
The Revo is realy somthing special, the two servos are functioning in harmony with the llllllarge tires.
I'm very happy to have it !!!

RE: Revo owners?
I own a REVO and an E-MAXX. Some of my bashing friends own T-Maxxes.
The REVO uses two steering servos each rated at 80 oz/in, since torque is additive, you can estimate the total available torque at 160 oz/in (minus linkage friction). The typical high torque upgrade to T-Maxxes and other single servo MTs are to 133 oz/in.
In other words, REVO steering is powerful, more powerful than most upgraded MAXXes. It can turn the wheels in any surface while standing still!
My concern with mine was that having two servos could lead to constant current drain due to servo misalignment, and when I checked mine I did have one servo battling the other. It only needed an adjustement, but I bet most REVO owners not even suspect of this design issue and just scratch their heads with poor battery life.
Now, comparing the MAXX with the REVO (My mere opinion based on the 2 MAXXes and 2 REVOs we bash):
Suspension: REVO
Suspension travel: REVO
Suspension smoothness: REVO
Lower center of gravity: REVO
Factory setup ground clereance: MAXX
Steering torque: REVO
Turning radious: MAXX
Acceleration: MAXX
Top speed: REVO & T-MAXX
Reliability: REVO
Thougness: REVO
Weather independence: Both suck! They both require daily tuning.
Included acessories: REVO
Engine Sound: REVO
Landing Sound: REVO
Appeal: REVO
Between me and my bashing friends we all agree, we all like the REVOs better.

RE: Revo owners?
As a owner of both a t-maxx, a revo ( along with a great deal of knowledge in the feild were in ) the revo surpasses the tmaxx in every way shape or forum, is a great basher, and will beat that crap outta any other mt out there. As far as the t maxx, it was good in its day, and with a little work going in the oposite way that most go with there t-maxx ( lighter vrs alum bling bling ) and some cash, it can compete with the revo, but the adjustablitly isn't there. The t-maxx is now outdated and should be discontunied.

Just do it... don't think about it... just do it... if I waited until I had the money... I wouldn't have EITHER of them. Of course it helps to have credit cards...

In all fairness to the LST. The extra $100 is well worth it for the radio upgrade IMO. The XS3 is much better than the TQ3.
