Default How to glue with SuperGlue. Tip

You can make more resistant zones by adding some toilet paper in this way (I use it to glue motor mounts):

1st glue the crack as usual.
2nd add a slim layer of glue in a square of 5x5 mm or so.
3rd stick on it a square of toilet paper.
4th add a bit more of glue over the paper so it gets wet.

Repeat process on both sides of the crack. Remember you can add more layers of paper by adding glue-paper-glue.

Now my cracked motor mounts are useable again!

Sorry about my english

I have used the same process before but instead of using toilet paper, I used Downy drier sheets that have already been used a couple of times in the drier. I don't know exactly what they are made of but they take on the same properties as fiberglass when mixed with thin CA type glues. ElVela; good tip...

Thanks! I think all kind of absorbent paper can be used. I forgot to mention that this mix can be sandpapered to fit motors... etc.

Now we have home made fiberglass! And more sticky!

I don't doubt that the addition of the fiberous material could strengthen the bond but I won't being flying with any glued parts ever again, especially motor mounts. Below is a link to what happened when I did, but just with glue. I got away with it for a while and then....... well, see for yourself.

You can also, use super glue and some baking soda, it is like a gap filler and it works great in bonding parts. I have not had any parts break when repaired this way. also you can wrap some thread around the area and then apply CA to the thread.

I agree with Sky High...The motor mount takes alot of vibration and abuse. For 6 bucks I would rather replace it then take a chance.
If It takes a hit hard enough to break it I would be worried that the single scew mount for the motor might be weakened and if that breaks in flight.....Your in a world of hurt!!!

I would suggest getting the frame stiffner kit, this removes alot of the forces the danage the mount.

Hoverdown, the stiffener kit does nothing for dampening vibration. All those rods do is to prevent the motor mounts from twisting from the torque.

Frame braces would have to dampen some Vibs I would think. The more rigid the frame the better, With an RC chopper if you do not have boom supports you can watch the vibration all the way at the tail,

Add some boom supports and the vibration drops, I would think the same would apply here, I did not say it would stop vibs, but it should would make them less,

the biggest cause of vibs has to be the rotors, since that is the only moving parts. I will check the balance of the new pegisus blades when mine come in.

Yes, while preventing the motors from turning on their arms, the stiffeners could also possibly prevent or reduce any oscillation vibration that may occur without them. But, the vibration is not reduced enough or eliminated for the purpose of clean video if the camera is mounted to the frame like the standard eyecam mount. If you don't have the new isolated mount, your video will be full of high frequency vibrations.
