Default 2 STROKE SMOKE

Can you make smoke from a thunder tiger .46 2-Stroke. I heard that you can only make smoke with a 4 stroke. Is this true or not? If you can make smoke with a 2 stroke how do you do it?

Thanks Guys

Default RE: 2 STROKE SMOKE

Generally, a two stroke engine that size will not produce enough heat to produce good smoke. A good indicator that most people don't try it with that size engine is that there really aren't any kits or smoke mufflers (that I know of) for an engine that size. If you were going to try it though (I did once without success) you should consider a few things. First, you just about have to preheat the smoke with copper coil around the cylinder or header and make sure you port your muffler to the highest heat/pressure spot you can find. Close to the header is about where it will have you be. You may also consider trying to make a smoke muffler with a coffee can muffler and putting coils of heavy gauge wire inside it to generate heat?

Default RE: 2 STROKE SMOKE

Macs Products has a sysytem. I tired smoke in a 40 sized engine a few years ago without much success. I have never seen the Mac system used, but, they have a video on the site.

http://www.macspro.com/smokesys.asp

I do use the Mac muffler shown on some planes and it increases rpm by about 500.

If anyone has used this system, post the results, please.
