Default Trex 250 MRS issues

I just got my Trex 250 Wednesday night and I tried to fly it Thursday morning after I set it up. on first couple of attempts I would get a tail wag on spool up or if not on spool up within 20 seconds of it being in the air. I adjusted the gains and tried adjusting the roll rate and nothing, I inspected the tail gears and motor pinion and everything seems tight not is loose. This morning I tried again to fly it, and once again the tail wag. I can handle the tail wag as its not absolutely terrible but not just enjoyable. after about 45 seconds into the flight the motor speed dropped by half with no stick inputs. throttle up and it just becomes harder to control, throttle it down and then throttle back up and it works fine again. I checked the battery at its at 12v even I'm lost I don't know what to do I'm to the point where I'm getting to the point of removing the mrs unit, the tail servo and the esc unit and would like to try and fix it without dumping more money into it.
