RE: Scorpion STOL!
Hey Ron.
This is Daniel, Clint's flying buddy. I video'd the take off for him.
We shared 5 flights on the 160 Sunday with great results. I'll let Clint give you the details, but he's seeing a solid 2 lbs of thrust over the 200 at our altitude.
The 160 has been flawless from what I've witnessed. It definitely increased the performance a good deal on the Scorpion. Starts are perfect, acceleration is fantastic.
This is the Std. Scorpion. The STOL takeoff, believe it or not, is performed with 70 degrees of flaps, airbrake out. We've measured it as short as 18 feet with lighter fuel loads.
Daniel

RE: Scorpion STOL!
Thanks guys I don't really have much to add to that
the WREN 160 is real jewel I have 116 oz of fuel on board so the flight time can
be quite long if you stay out of the throttle I am tipicly seeing 15oz a minute
on the fuel flow and I cant tell that much of a difference from the xl 200 (on fuel burn that is )
the power is AWSOME Ill keep you updated on it
I have right at ten gallons of fuel through it so far
And as Daniel always says on the way home after flying the scorpion
(that jets got to be the best keep secret it rc jets )I agree

RE: Scorpion STOL!
WOW...
that was a very short takeoff!
That almost seemed shorter than my aerobatic plane....
I have an interest in this jet, and Im probrably not going to need that much thrust.
But WOW! cant get shorter than that....now try hold it vertical and takeoff! XD
