When I'm tuning a new engine or fuel I use Kliff's Snap-on temp gun... Kliff used it for individual exhaust temps(at the header flanges) on the supercharged BB Chevies and Keith Black Hemis he was building severral years back.....

But I most always have my Ofna temp gun in my pocket when just out playing...

The Ofna unit is usually within plus or minus 5F of the Snap-On unit

On second thought, forget it, not worth the retort.

$298 for the Snap-On? That thing better be able to tell you the temperature of the Moon's cheese to +-5 degrees! I'd be willing to bet that's just a tad out of his price range.

It will in fact measure temps down tp + or - 1.0 degrees at distances of up to 30+ feet. It was also NOT meant as a suggestion for ID099 to buy, but to give a refence point for the accuracy of the Ofna unit he's interested in purchasing, which I also use.
Maybe had you read the entire post....

Sorry dude... just a little fired up.

As for the price.....yeah, when kliff was building engines....the price of tools was secondary to him......as long as they did the job.
