busted shock. please help.
the piece that holds the oil in fell off today (all the oil spilled out the bottom; sucked) and i dont know how to fix it. ive tried to get the "o" ring (the black one) in but to no avail. are there aluminum shocks that come with caps for the bottom? my black plastic ones have caps but they break too easily. how do i go about fixing this? i would prefer to get new shocks with caps, but only if their aluminum.

i think you should switch to the alluminum ones also. what car do you have? then you can go to a provider (tower hobbies, horizon, etc.) and do a search for the replacment for it.

see the 2 black ones in the middle? is there a tool to press the 2 ends together? i need to do that then lower the ring, compressed, back into the bottom of the shock body.

Yes any hardware store should have retaining ring pliers, do yourself a favor and get a set that will do internal and external rings. In a pinch you might be able to use needle nose pliers, the really small ones.
