Default Exceed RC G2 Speed Controller Fire

Ihave just started flying 6ch heli's and the RCG2 is my first, so i played with the sim and after about a week I decided to break out the real heli. So I plugged everything in, ran through my checks, all good. Now I began to slowly push the throttle forward, watching the blades rotate and check for wobble and alignment, next thing I know my heli is on fire, the speed controller started on fire, whats up with that. Anyone ever had this problem?

I had this problem with the factory 30A ESC after about 45 seconds of 30% -50% throttle. I didnt even get to take off before the thing fried. So I bought a Dynam Detrum 60A and all is well. I thought it better to just go ahead and buy a replacement instead of paying for shipping to xheli only to get a 30A back that I plan on replacing soon anyway.

Brand new at this forum. I had just bought the G2 and got it here in Afghan like a week ago. Ilove it. Still just hovering and getting used to it since it is my first 6CH ( Ive been flying for 2 years off and on and have two 4CH which are Exceed Falcon 40 and WarHawk 300) so not quite used to the collective pitch. Now it has no problems at all but i do see it has some over heating issues with the ESC. I think im gonna go ahead and get a better one just to be ready for it to go like it has been doing for others. I found one on exceed and wanted to know if it will be ok to use. I am new to this still so i would appreciate the help. http://www.xheli.com/93a16-13-esc-50a.htmlThis is what i found and just wondered if it will be ok to use. Thanks

So since my first post, I contacted XHeli and there was no problem in gettingan echange for my Heli. Although It did take me forever to get in contact with Customer Service, and their online chat now help wasn't always online. But, when I did finally reach someone, they were more than willing to take care of my needs. So about 2-3 week I got My exchange, I live on the East Coast, so I expected the delay, no big deal. I was excited to get it up in the air. Life takes funny turns, and I was unable to do so until yesterday. So I charge the battery, put it in the Heli, go through my checks, push the throttle, slowly, to about 50% and the thing just sits there. Go to 70% and it barely lifts off the ground, but boy was there tail movement. It was spinning like crazy. I tried to correct the tail spin with some left stick movement, nothing. It may have sloweddown some but it still kept spinning. Maybe I needed to get it higherthan 4-6 inches off the ground before it corrects itself.

I have two other 4 channel Heli's, a BlitzRcWorks, and I need about 45% throttle to get than thing in the air, a Walkera HM V400D02, and I need about the same throttle to get lift off. Is there a reason why I need to push the throttle to 70% in order to get lift off?</p>
