Default question on ZDZ40 falkon ignition

Hello,
I just received a replacement falkon ignition for my zdz40. The original went bad and a new one was sent to me today. My old one had only two wires (red and brown). Now, this new one has three wires on the battery connection lead (brown/red/yellow). I assume that the yellow doesn't get connected to anything, but I would appreciate some advice from someone who has one and knows. Please no guessing here, only post if you know for sure.

Youre right the yellow wire does nothing. Just make sure the red and brown match up to each other and you are good to go.

Thanks for the help.
The ZDZ 40 is going in a Waco biplane from Kangke (Super Kraft).

Default RE: question on ZDZ40 falkon ignition

My ZDZ40BS came with a 3-wire set up on Falcon Ignition PCI 1.3. It came with the eng. as so did a Pitts muffler and Bambula 20/8 prop. It was a package deal they were selling at RC Showcase.
May I ask how much did the Falcon Ignition cost? I crashed my plane and now the ignition box has a small dent in it....... and also broke the motor mount back-plate. I can't (don't know how) test the Ignition until I get a new back-plate ( $65 ) so I can bench test the eng. (and ignition....yikes!). I just want to for-warn myself for the shock on how much the ignition costs.......if it turns out bad. Thanks.. And good luck to you.

I never bought a new one so I am afraid I can't help you out. I sent mine back and they repaired it under warranty. You will have to contact RC Showcase directly for the price.
