How exactly did it blow up? I snapped the piston rod and I was running rich and at about 130 degress. Your link doesn't work by the way but if you're going with a big block most people recommend going with the RBTm523 kit.

Novarossi Plus 21-5KT Off-Road 5 port Competition Buggy Engine.
that engine or any NR 21 will not work in a maxx, you would never start it.

BB are not with it, you'll be breaking more parts then driving. the best engines for a maxx are a Picco 26 max, or a RB 523, more power then you'll need. and alot cheaper

Yeah I past that a long time ago

the 21TM is probably a good engine, but it cost as much as the RB 523 which comes with a engine, mount, and pipe, and the picco even with the mount is cheaper then the 21tm

Yea but I dont care about breaking parts i am still going to get this motor an put it in my maxx. Im extending the chassis gettin an buggy motor mount. Steel cvd's thruout the truck. Strobe slipper kit. buggy diffs. all RPm arams and shock towers.
As for the picco os and who ever the hell rb is they are just too weak for me not enough there. i need sumthin that will beat my e revo. none of those will i have beat an picco .26 like nothin. my friend has an os .30 or sumthin like that and he dint stand a chance. but my friend and my LHS was saying novarossi engines are wicked fast. he garenteed my my e revo will get blown away by one of them so i am gettin one.

But thanks anyways to all who replied i just wanted sum opinions from you all.

RB is up there with Novarossi, maybe better. but a realy fast engine is a AB modded Picco 28, or you might want to look into a RB 928 shold be up with the NR 528

I think you might have a little bit of trouble beating your E-Revo.

Novarossi makes RB engines.. lol just thought I'd clear that up.

Also the O.S. 30 has no top end.. The picco .26 wont even beat the RB 323 wich is the down graded version of the 523.

The O.S. 18tz is a lot faster then the 3.3 also.

imho,rb concepts 323/523 are best drop in engines on the market right for the maxx or the revo,i have both of those engines in my stable, along with the .26maxx,the .26 does not get much run time anymore!!!the rb engine is just that good!!!

Thats kewl i had no clue about Rb motors. So why are novarossis so expensive? they have moded ones also. I really dont know much about nitro i just got into this stuff in june so i blew up my 3.3 in my revo thats why its electric now. So My emaxx i took the tranny from turned into a tmaxx after buying a tmaxx tranny and chassis. But you say i might have a hard time beating my Erevo well darn that puts a smile on my face. LOL well atleast i want to do is make my maxx crazy fast too. I am makeing the chassis more narrow and as long as the revo 3.3 So should be alot better. So what rb is the best one and does it come in a kit?

My next project is starting after valentines day. My girl is gettin me a muggy. i cant wait to turn it also. I found a neu motor that handles 10s lipo and i am gettin an mgm controller and a 8s or 10s lipo. SO watch out. LOL my diff prob wont even be able to hold it but i cant wait to see what it can do.

the 523 comes as a kit...you can get the 928 which would be comparable to the novarossi in ur original post except its not modded. you can ship it off to AB mods and get a Stage 2 modd to make alot more power.

delsym, send colt4g63 a PM on the subject, tell him you want the most powerful engine you could imagine and se what he tells you, colt is the guy behind AB mods, the guy wth the dyno who can prove and disprove what's better, and the picco .28 P3is one of the most powerful there is, and after he's done with it is is the most powerful.

RB engines are some of the best in the industry, they are made in the novarossi factories, but to RB specifications, the RB xenon .21 on road engine is .2 HP more powerful then the best of the best of the stock .28 engines, just as an example.

but most of there engine you will NOT be able to use in a T-maxx because you can not use a bump start with a t maxx, and o lot of the top end engines need a bump box to start them, but chances are if you have a half decent brushless setup, there is no nitro engine that is going to beat it.

The money is no problem. Its like xmas for me everyother week. LOl Its nice get checks from you enharitence. or whatever i cant spell.
Ne ways. I guess the ? is what is the one to get. Or should i just say screw the Maxx and buy an Losi 8ight or Muggy. I can get either of em from my LHS for 500. But the 8ight is used. and the muggy is new.

What Should i do????????

going to a 8ight or a muggy would probably be better. is it a 8ight or 8ight T? the muggy is kinda a race version of the LST2, because its not a real race truggy, but it will beat a MT most likely

Delsym,
I think you should forget about the Maxx and get a Muggy OR a Lst2. I have tried to Big Block a Maxx last year, (before I ever heard of RCU) and I was going to put a Mach .26 in it. The Mach .26 isn't even that strong of an engine. I had $1200 and some change into that truck. I fired it up and it was far too overpowered. I had hybrid bulks and everything. The truck would sit there and spin and then catch and flip. Dare I say it, but that was the nicest Maxx I had ever seen. I sold it for $1100 to a guy who wanted to make it a show truck. (That's were I got the Money to do my BB Revo build.) The Muggy and Lst2 are both very capable brushless contenders. It's your choice. I've seen several brushless Lst(2)s but I have never seen an E-Muggy. Also, the Lst2s I saw weren't anywhere as nice as the one you want to build. If you do got with Losi, www.lstforums.com is the absolute best place to do research and get help. Check out the Conversion/project area. Let me know your choice.

Default RE: MY 3.3 blew up.

I have seen sum vid of brushless lst2 and they are not really all that. and i saw one at my LHS but it was only runnin on NIHM so wasnt impressive at all. But here is a vid of an E Muggy

http://youtube.com/watch?v=sRUd1NVkZCQ

This thing is what gave me the idea of of going with neu motors. Im glad i did. But i think i will just forget about the maxx for now and just replace the 3.3 later. But 8ight t looks great both buggy and truggy. But the muggy is almost the same thing for alot cheaper new. So i think its got me.
