Default phoenix speed controller melting

Is it possible for the speed controller to melt with a small lipo pack? I have the phoenix 25 with 3 cell 700 mha pack and when I plugged it in, started to mealt to the point where the motor leads became unsoldered.

Thanks

Jo

Are you sure you had the leads hooked up correctly?
