Sig Ryan STA landing gear
I am getting ready to start work on an very old Sig Ryan STA Special kit. The red and white civilian model. The wingspan is 72 inches. Unlike the Great Planes ARF version ( recently discontinued) which I believe has an 80 inch wingspan. My question is this. Robart offers Robostruts for the GP Ryan. Does anyone know for sure if these Robart struts for the GP Ryan will fit the Sig Ryan kit? Any opinions are welcome.

RE: Sig Ryan STA landing gear
I am building this old kit as well - taking forever. You can make anything fit of course. Email Robart, maybe they will help you. Do you think it will add weight? These kits are very heavy as it its. Have you done anything to lighten things up. The struts will be covered up completely.
BTW - This thread really should be in the kit building forum not Giant scale. You might get more advise there.

RE: Sig Ryan STA landing gear
I am also just getting ready to start on the Sig Ryan STA. I don't like the looks of the plan landing gear. Looks too stiff. The kit seller provided me Fiberglass Specialties cowl and wheel pnts.
I would welcome any comments on building, power, flying, etc.
