in other words, pretty much an exact copy of what is used for all the R/C Groups sites, and as far as i can tell, most every other classified section of any forum.
one of the things that made RCU stand out, was, it was really easy to remember where you saw that one add that interested you, because adds were so different over here.
How about filtering out scammers? What protections are now added to protect members from being ripped off?
Ken and I just instituted a product where users with 0 posts can no longer PM you. We believe this will help cut down tremendously on new users trying to scam others.
We have always cautioned buyers and sellers to practice vigiliance and awareness when conducting a transaction and avoiding common scam tactics, like using PP Friends and Family.
Can you make it such that like Feebay, one cannot put a phone number or email in posts, only via PM's?
Because no matter how much you emphasize this in a warning sticky, folks do not obviously read or take heed of this.

Unfortunately our censorship options are not that specific. I can ban numbers, but not phone numbers. I can try to make the warnings more blatant.
A feature that I think would be very useful would be a filter to see or not see ads that will not ship items. It is a real pain to see a great item and want to buy it but you get to the bottom of the ad and then it says "will not ship". 98% of what is listed is beyond a days drive. Not willing to ship sort of makes listing on a web page seen around this planet a waste of resource. Making ship or no ship part of the ad set up would make things a lot easier.
I'm assuming this is not the format yet? Adds without any pictures makes for a difficult buy/sell.
Tech couldn't transfer the photos, which... I know that's a major "What the Hell?" I'm with you guys on that. The mods and I are trying to at least get the posts moved into the appropriate sub-categories (planes, cars, engines, etc)
supper negative first impression. will the sub categories be added back in under things like airplanes, helicopters, motors and the others?
i dunno about the other folk, but i will not waste time filtering through stuff i am NOT interested in seeing.
We are doing that as we speak. Huge kudos to BarracudaHockey, who is taking point. I've done a fair amount myself, but am much slower, since I'm not an RC guy and have to Google a lot of stuff.
This is the work in progress: https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/cla...rketplace-282/
Hello --I do not like the way you have it set up. My self and the rest of the club does like it either. Please return to the old way. PICS are better than wordc. Mr. Grimes

You can still post photos. Tech just couldn't transfer the pre-existing ones.
