Default Generators?

Hi All,

Does anyone know of a source for generators that can be used with our gassers? I know of the Sullivan generator as well as the Fuji engine with the generator but need more power output than these two can provide.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Happy flying,

Jim Prouty

How much power do you require?

Hi Mark,

Ideally I'd like to be able to at least replenish a 12V, 2AH battery. Ideally 12V @ 1Amp would be nice.

Thanks again,

Have you considered solar cells?

The Sullivan website lists generators for planes,up to really BIG ones that are custom made. They also do RPV work, so you can be sure that the quality of the items is very good. I'd suggest giving them a call. They can set one up for you with just about any voltage you desire, rectified and voltage regulated to keep your packs fully charged during flight.

Solar cells really aren't an option for my application. I need to be able to generate the power from and engine driven source.

Thanks,

Any electric motor can be used as a generator. All you have to do is hook it up to the load and drive it. 1 amp @ 12V is only 12 watts. It should be easy to get what you want. You will need a regulator in order to keep the voltage output at what you want. I would contact a motor manufactor and tell them what you want and ask for a unit to fit your needs
