I need a JR throttle servo (standard size)
I need help choosing a throttle servo for my Aeroworks Ultimate. I am currently using a JR 537 standard but it is way too slow! Since I built a little mount around it I want a JR servo of the same size. So, without spending $100 (I'd like to spend no more than $50 if possible) what do you guys recommend? I don't know JR servos very well (other than the 8411 and 8611) so I need your help. Thanks!

Hi Pauly! I have been using the 811 and it seems much better than the 3001 I had on it and much much better than the 245 before that.

IMO, a coreless precession servo is the way to go on throttle. Digitals offer the best precession. My preference would be for a nylon geared unit like 8231 or the faster MG 8417 is an excellent choice.

I'm using a mini on my throttle in an 80" plane. It's an Airtronics 94145 coreless--metal gears. It's fast, strong, and light. It's not digital, but it beats the heck out of a standard servo.
BTW- the rest of my servos are JR 8231 on my elevators and aileorns and a JR 8411 on rudder with a 4721 on my choke.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the responces. I have a Futaba 9451 Digital Coreless next to me that I'm going to try. If it's not a drop in fit (I'm lazy and don't feel like messing with the mount) I'll bite the bullet and pick up one of the high end JR precision servos. Thanks fellas!

I was thinking of using an 811 on my throttle but saw a RCU thread where people were complaining about lots of jittering. Have those of you using them not had a problem?

I have just over 100 flights on my Super-Xtra and it is very accurate for being a "cheap" servo, proly has something to due with it being digital, and nylon gears. Speed seems to be ok, for the throttle and it comes back to the same spot every time. I have mine mounted on the back of my firewall, which isnt the greatest place for any servo to be at.
I will say that as soon as I send out my DS8417mg for a check up I will replace the 811 with that one. The 811 will go in my new 2X2 Extra...oh sweet!
