HI WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS USED A SAITO 120 SIDE MOUNTED IN A PHEATON 90 BIPLANE THANK YOU

I'm not sure what you are looking for, but as to the engine suitability, I have been flying mine since 1999 with a 25cc converted gasser, which is similar power to your 1.2, and I think your engine is a good choice.

No doubt you have a good reason for wanting to mount in that method, but I'm thinking doing so will require some compromises to other issues such as dealing with a cowl.

It will likely require splitting the cowl for installation. The ABS cowl comes split vertical so rather than joining, simply provide a mounting system for the two halves. That will leave a cosmetic line and some joining screws but it would work. Keep in mind that ABS has less strength than fiberglass and the screw holes might take some abuse so I'd CA some reinforcing cloth to the inside locations of the holes. The availability of very small button screws makes such efforts more reasonable.
