mvvs help 26 redhead
I have a mvvs 26 redhead that was involved in a earth digging adventure-the crank is not bent and engine still runs-but I noticed when I removed the carb from the case there was a small crack in the throat in the case where the carb was pushed against the case, I used a little rtv and reassembled and engine runs great but I think I probaly should repair properly for service life of the engine-please advise-thanks

Jim,
Even though parts for MVVS engines are significantly less costly than those of other engines, I would suggest you ignore that crack...
Even though bearing alignment is probably not what it used to be, if the engine still runs satisfactorily, just let it.
If the crack begins to advance considerably, or if the engine begins to run badly, it would then become necessary to replace the crankcase.
