Converting electric to nitro
Could an electric truck be converted to nitro?Saw a truck at Wal-Mart that I liked. It is a Ford F-350,made by Eztech, about 24" long, big rubber tires, orange and black, and really detailed in and out, looks like the real truck.Thought "Wow wish I could get that in nitro".If it couldn't be converted, how about a better electric motor, radio and battery supply? Or where could I get trucks that big, powered by nitro or gas engine? Thanks,Tidnab

you could buy the walmart truck, buy a nitro truck and lift the body onto the nitro truck although hard plastic bodies will crack a lot!

RE: Converting electric to nitro
I agree, I have done it before, I gutted all the electronics and replaced them with hobby grade speed control and motor. I got it to go faster, but I end up stripping all the plastic gears on the transmission which are not replaceable.
Its not worth it at all. So I end up using the wheels and tires and the body (F350) of that walmart toy and custom fitted it on my vintage rc10 roller. Looks cool, but heavy and slow.
If you want big scale RCs, there are gas models now in the market. I believe the standard size is 10th scale, bigger scale models are available in 1/8, 1/7(nitro), 1/6 and 1/5.(gas)
here are some examples
