Default eco piccollo using pro tail motor

i have ,in the last year and a half ,burnt out two tail motors on my piccollo, maybe by coincidence but both have been since collective upgrade.I am currently trying a pro tail motor which with a bit of adaption with the fixing screws, fits quite well,i have had to alter the ballance by shoving the battery further forward, now it flys quite well and i'm more confident it wont let me down so quickly, only problem is that now my nimh 9.6v hardly lifts it off the ground, whilst my 9.6 ni cad flys nearly as good as on ordinary tail motor,i know that its the weight increase, but to overcome this i'm thinking of getting a pro battery pack,do you think this will fry my piccoboard plus,or will the extra 1.2 volts be ok?i don't want to have to shell out for a pro board as i may as well just buy a pic pro complete!!!
