.21tm v .18tm v .26 picco v rb 523 v Sirio S27TX .27
Ive already done research on all of these engines but there isnt a thread with all 4 included sooo....
I have an original T-maxx that currently has a 2.5 in it and want more power. Ive asked questions in other threads but havent gotten the answers ive been looking for so i decided to just start its own thread. I dont know if this changes anything but i have the proline long a-arm kit on my truck as well.
What motor is the most reliable?
The most powerful?
Besides the rb i would need a pipe, so what pipe would you recommend (the picco jp-4?)
What would i need to do to some what "bullet proof" my drive train? i would like to stay away from metal trans if at all possible?
Does the tiger drill start work on all of these engines?
Integey makes an aluminum chassis for the maxx would that also be a good upgrade?
Does anyone have video or pics of there own trucks with these engines?

RE: .21tm v .18tm v .26 picco v rb 523 v Sirio S27TX .27
well im not sure about the sirio because i dont have any personal experience with it. but excluding that i would go with the RB 523. it love mine. and its more powerfull then the 2 OS TMs mentioned above. as far as reliability they are all good engines. Sirio and RB are very similar in design. the sirio you mentioned above is a .27 and the RB is a .23. so as far as performance i have no idea. i would stay away from integy aluminum. especially the chasis. thats a big thing that can go wrong. im pretty sure all 4 of those are tiger drive compatible but not 100% certain. if you got either of the OS's or a RB 523 you wouldnt need to do any bulletproofing. again, im not sure about the sirio. if it has alot of low end torque like a picco you might want to. but if it has more top end like the RB 523 you wouldnt have to worry about it much. just replace as you got if it ever happens.

i appreciate your well informed responce i dont feel like i really need top end speed so what do you think has the best torque also what kind of gearing should i look at like 16/72 for low end?

i have no idea what gearing you want in a tmaxx. ive got a revo. but if you want some low end i would get a picco .26 maxx. they are great engines as well. my revo will wheelie and hit low 50's and i have a little less then 2 gallons through my truck with the RB 523 in it and there are no signs of where on the drivetrain parts. the picco is a low end power house.
but then again the sirio could have good low end. im not sure, but if its anything like its step brother RB its mostly high end.

I put a picco 26 maxx in my t-maxx. With paddle tires, spools, and 18/44 gearing I do wheelies in snow. Since I do more hill climbing than high speed runs down the block I went with the picco and its worked great.

the stock pipe will rob power. go with a trinity or THS pipe. HILLFINGER has the picco and pipe but i cant remember what pipe hes got.

i have the same truck you do, or atleast it was that.
Came with the 2.5 when i got it
now i run an RB323tm which is what the 523 replaced,
It's got an unbeleavable amount of power compaired to the 2.5 shocking difference it realy is.
and tunability is second to nothing i have had, and i have had a few engines in past years.
Cant realy say much on the other engines you asked about because i dont have an experiance with them,
but i do know RB makes a great engine.

After looking around for a couple months myself trying to decide I decided on the picco even though it seemed like most people had sealing problems with it. Maybe I got lucky but no leaks anywhere. It has A LOT of power right of idle all the way to wide open. I twisted the hub out of one of my rims today.
