Default Cockpit Framework 1/4 scale

I have a 1/4 scale Vega Glider with a large but quite floppy cockpit cover. I want to make it more rigid by fitting it into some sort of framework so that I can hinge it to the fuz as in the full size. Can anyone offer me a good way of doing this. I was going to use the cockpit outline on the fuz to act a a mould and build up some sort of frame which the cockpit cover could be attached too but do not know what materials to use. Can anyone help.

Polly,

I lay-up fiberglass cloth with epoxy resin over the existing canopy, then cut out the frame and glue the canopy to the inside of the frame.
