Katana Gs40 ARf tail bracing needed?
Sorry if this is already somewhere and I may have missed it...
Building my Katana (top notch ARF... one complaint/comment..I wish the CA hinges weren't already glued in... I like to use pinned hinges and it would have been easier to just enlarge the existing slots....
but I digress as everything looks top notch)
Does anyone add triangle stock or flying wires to the tail surfaces??
is it needed??
Just curious
Thanks

RE: Katana Gs40 ARf tail feathers question
I had a mojo that broke the horizontal stab free one day so i took some CF rod (small diameter) and installed it between the vert stab and the horizontal on the top only. It lasted right through the last flight which was a midair intact. It worked great.

RE: Katana Gs40 ARf tail feathers question
My Kat 40 has had about 70 flights with lots of nose overs onto the rudder/stab and it has been fine. It has been well tested in the air as well. I have never seen one with any extra bracing. One thing I would do though is to cut into the fuse between the landing gear and put in some hard balsa or a piece of spruce. The fuse gets crushed very easily and doesn't stand up too well. It was about a 10 minute repair for mine.
