Black Cardboard Tubes For Wiring
Trying to find a source for these . They are about 1/2 in. in diameter and are very similar construction to the tube in a paper towel roll. They are about 3 feet in length. Any idea where to get ?

Black Cardboard Tubes For Wiring
TNT landing gear sells the tubes for servo wires. I've also gotten them from tower hobbies, they are called rocket body tubes made by estes, I think the size is RC5. If you need a tube for your fuselage a monokote roll tube works pretty well. If you are going to install them in a foam wing you can also cut a channel for your wires using a hot metal rod. You can save some weight by using this method.

1. Go to the Hardware store, buy the appropriate sized wood dowel (straight of course).
2. Cover the dowel with a wrap of waxed paper.
3. Cut brown paper to size, 3 or 4 wraps should do.
4. Lay paper out flat, cover with thin coat of epoxy, roll up on dowel, apply waxed paper on top and wrap with masking tape, use uniform pressure.
5. Let dry until epoxy is cured.
6. Twist and pull the tube off the dowel, cut to size as required.
Now you have a strong tube that was cheap, and the perfect size that you want/need.

RC,
That would make quite an impressive tube. I just used a couple pieces of tape to hold mine together. It's seems rigid enough to hold wires inside.
