HT Modellbau Hunter first flights
It's been a busy weekend for first flights. Second of the day was my new huge Hunter from Switzerland. I commissioned this to be built at Jet Power 2008. Paid my money and waited patiently for one year. True to their word the builders delivered the model to my stand at Jet Power 2009 and boy was it worth the wait.
The model came completely ready to fly. All it required was a few evenings of setting up and tinkering and it was ready for it's first flights at Classic jets on Friday.
Apart from needing a colossal amount of air pressure in the gear to get them away when the model is flying along everything else went really well.
I had the build based on a scale scheme of a famous Uk based display hunter that has been doing the show circuits here for quite a few years( Called Miss Demeanour ) . A bit like my last Hunter scheme ( Graffiti ) It's not to every bodies liking, but thats just about how I like it. Whatever people think about it, there is no disputing how striking the model is when in the air.
The model is powered by a Jet Cat P-160 Sx and built very lightly ( To get it below the Uk 20 KG limit of certification ) After a few flights I have decided that a bit like other jets of this size and weight, the model could do with a bit more power and inertia. So tomorrow I will be ordering a new Jet Cat P200 Sx, adding a bit more fuel , registering the model witht he CAA and seeing if I cant get the model performing even better than it is now.
A few photos for now.

Ali,
Yes there is. This is the answer I got about the problem from RCKen...
"The oversized pictures are a problem with our severs that pops up occasionally. The best fix is to immediately find out what server you are on. You do this by going to a non-forum page (such as the magazine) and scroll to the bottom of the page to find out what server you are on. It should read something like RCU3. Make this check immediately after you notice the oversized pictures. PM me (RCKen), Nathan, or March (RCadmin) ad we'll get that server rebooted." I was also told that if you delete them and reload them it fixes the problem.
George
P.S. Great looking Hunter. with a different fate we all hope!

Great looking machine!!!
If you click on the pictures, as you would to increase size, they will shrink in size when the server has made them all large.
Cheers

RE: HT Modellbau Hunter first flights
The first flight was not without incident. Coming into land I noticed that the nose wheel was hung up. With no way of getting it down I had to rely on the jolt of the landing to knock it out or scrape the nose
Well the photos show how it worked out

Beautiful plane and beautiful pictures.
I think that the P-200SX will really give it justice ( I shall receive the RCJI test unit this Wednesday )
If you need a P-200 FOD screen just let me know. I recently received 10 FODs to be modified to fit the 200 from a small shop lost somewhere in the UK called Al's hobbies .
I could give you a good price on that if you'd need one
BTW are you going to bring the Hunter to Al Ain ?

RE: HT Modellbau Hunter first flights
Just a quick update.
I have had a few enquiries about availability of this stunning Hunter Kit. I have to say that I have not been 100% sure of when I could actually get a kit too a customer or even at what price. Not the best way of trying to sell a high end kit I know, but thats just the way it was. The last thing I want to do is tell someone that I can get it in 2 weeks at a cost of $X amount. Then to find it takes 12 weeks and costs much more.
Well the good news is that there has been a serious shake up of how this Hunter kit is produced and sold. It is now taken care of by a different team and they assure me that they can have a complete kit and all optional parts available in 8 weeks time.
The production numbers will be very limited and I am sure they will sell all they can produce. For any on those interested in getting their hands on one of these classic jets, please feel free to shoot me an email, and I will see if I can be of assistance. [email protected]
Regards Al
