Default E-Maxx Upgrades

Hey Guys,

First post here and I'm pretty new to hobby, pretty green to the hobby since I haven't owned a car in about 15 years and didn't know much back then. Recently, I picked up a Jato 3.3 and while it's fun, I want something that's a little more versatile. I've decided that I want a E-Maxx, but definitley don't want to drop the cash on the brushless system, yet. I'm not looking into getting anything blazing fast, would just like to get something in the brushless line that I can run with lipos. I will mainly just bashing around, but would like the little bit of extra oomph when I want it. I'd like to stay in the 200 range for a BL motor and ESC. So what would be your recommendations for the following ? I'm getting the newer E-Maxx and it says I don't need to upgrade the drivetrain to do BL, model 3903.

BL & ESC combo
Gears
Lipos

I've seached to death and there are so many differing opinions my head is spinning. I appreciate any advice and direction you can point me in. Links would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim

I would recommend a Savage Flux HP, Savage Flux 2350 or a Savage Flux XS (mini).....

T9Dragon,

I want to buy the E-Maxx how it sits right now and know what my possible upgrade options are in the future. I'm not looking to buy a new brand.

Thanks<br type="_moz" />

That is fine if you want to buy an E-Maxx, I was just suggesting on of those trucks since you said you were looking at buying a truck.

Besides the brushed motor's/esc in the 3903. The 3905, 3903, 3908 E-Maxx's use all the same parts. Transmission included-the e-revo also use's the same tranny.

I'm using a hobbyking 150a esc. Can do up to 6s (ignore the sticker on the esc). I run my maxx mainly on 4s but I'm building a revo for a 6s setup and will be buying another HK 150a esc b/c mines been bullet proof.

Don't forget the program card.

My motor is the castle 2200kv motor which comes with the 3908 E-Maxx outta the box. Don't worry about the price on amain's site-can be had for as little as a $100 on ebay.

All the E-Maxx really needs is RPM arms and metal bulkheads then it's just as tough as any savage. Have fun with it!!!!
