Although I see too many Civics, Eclipses, RSXs, etc. fixed up in my area, yours is still nice. I like the mesh wheels the most. Black spokes w/ a polished lip on a white car would look even better, IMO. I still voted "yes" in your poll.

the skyline is nothing special over here in the states, aside from the kids that have seen TFATF one too many times. no quicker in the quarter or the curves than a 96-98 Mustang Cobra, and a whole lot uglier

???

Acutally it is.

1.9 mph, .29 sec. faster in the 1/4 mile

3 mph faster top speed

Full second faster to 60 mph

16 mph faster in the slalom

Not to diss the cobra, but it's not as fast.

BTW what year is your T-Bird? and what motor is in there? I've got a 90 Cougar it's got the 3.8 right now, but I'm looking at either supercharging it, or swapping in a 5.0.

my T-bird is an '88, 5.0L, I've got a 332" shortblock waiting on me to quit blowin money on RC stuff so I can get some heads and an intake...
the Skyline gets to 60 in 4.5 seconds? and the Skyline does 82 in the slalom? (mind you i'm going off of numbers i read in MT like a decade ago) and 3 mph higher top speed is no biggie to me, fastest i've gone is 160...and that was with me in the passenger seat of my buddy's 347 ci 95 GT, and i was leaving a nice little pinch place in the seat (and the car wasn't done accelerating)
at any rate...the Skyline is still not much of anything special MHO.

BTW, what's an R33 or an R34 run in the 1/4? what about trap speed/60' time?

There aren't any civics in the USA that have 1.4L, and my N/A 1.6l has about twice that power, stock.

Thunderbird Junkie

I'm not a huge top speed guy either, but after driving the civic for a while I realized I want something geared more toward hi speeds, (the civics at 3000 at 60mph This is what got me interested in a high powered cougar. They would make an excellant hi speed cruiser 100-140mph if they had a nice built up turbo/super 3.8 or built 5.0. The 5.0 I can get is a stock lincoln town car one. I think it has very restrictive heads on it and I'm assuming low compression from it's low output. I've got some money burning a hole in my pocket though So It might recieve a new head and Intake manifold underneath a big 4 barrel carb, either that or try and figure out some kind of Fuel Injection setup. I'm still real undecided on that project.

[link=http://www.jbskyline.net/R34/GTR/Specs/]Skyline Link[/link] I dont' remember where I found that slalom speed, some other skyline spec page.

red, just for the record...IIRC the MT test of the 96 Cobra was 67+ through the slalom, i know that stock ones regularly run 13.60s, and I just can't find the evidence to back it up, lol.
