Default Jetcat P20

Dear,

What would be, from your opinion ,the reason for this turbine not to start properly?

First start was perfect.
Than we put the tail cover on and close the airplane. Next starts was as you can see on the attached movie.

I did purged fuel lines with max voltage of fuel pump 5.3V. Fuelpum works nice.
Oring changed and all cleaned with alkohol. It was a lot of old rubber jammed inside the oring but still no improvement.

I did check with torch to see the starter head position during starting procedure, starter goes back and after turbine reaching 45krpm something is happening change sound and rpm drops and starter jump forward to help assist and that happened 3 times,back-forward-back-forward and turbine stops with starter on it and than cooling process follows..
As on video at 45k acceler showes and at this point problem starts. But is strange that Pv is rising nonstop...
So when "acceler" sequence starts also problem starts...
After coling procedure turbine is turning nice and free with hand and starter head is dosconnect as should be.

Thank you for all your usefull suggestions..

Brgds

It is kerostart SX with ECU V10.0.
It is strange that for first start turbine did run perfectly. Also Pv goes up...
After we closed the fuselage with tail on it start was problematic. All other things was unchanged. Im thinking there can be one option that some tape or something went into the turbine because fuselage was closed and inlets was used for air delivery.
Im just guessing..

Sounds like the turbine is a little tight, also the starter is slipping. Since you are unlikely to have a new starter O ring, remove the one you have, turn it 180 degrees and refit with the unworn side. That should get you some starts while you order a new one.

There are 3 screws holding the starter motor housing together, remove these, swing the motor out carefully and the O ring can be removed and refitted with a small 1/16-5/32 flat blade screw driver.
When you replace the housing, do not over tighten the three screws…gentle nip only

Hi Dave,

I did have few new orings and did change it but still the same story.
I reduced acceler 1 a bit and now starts OK.

I have new issue now.
Max rpm 240k are unstabel and there is variation 180k to 220k up and down.
If I go with throtle slowly slowly up than is ok but from min to max at once not ok.

Hold at full throttle stick and hold set/manual (depending on GSU) for 30 secs

I have this one.
I pushed "Manual" at full throttle but then RPM went up and down and turbine switched off..
Will try with "Set" buton.

What this procedure which you described actualy will do?

Release tube pump voltage limit long enough to set the max settings
