Default My B-17 Kit is Here!! I Need Some help!!

OK, Ive been waiting, impatiently for my WestCraft B-17 kit. It's finally here!![sm=lol.gif].
It is about 90% complete, missing a couple of minor items. This a an old kit that has been passed around a bit. The problem is there is no paper work or plans. I really need help finding some plans. Anyone out there that can help? I have sent an e-mail the pres at Bomber Field, hoping he know someone who can help. Anyone else?
Hope to start after the first of the year, and I plan to post a build thread when I get started.

Someome mentioned in a B-17 thread they had one they wanted to get rid of, and I took him seriously. Made an offer and here I am. I have been considering a Don Smith build for a couple of years, but that was just "cubic dollars". I have most all the needed gear for this one.

I have set of the plans I believe. Its the same Plan that american eagle sells now. I hope you got the foam the the wing cores came. It will be a real bear to sheet if you did not. I'll look and see if I have the plans. There were really no instructions. Just a little hints...

Ty,
Let me know if you do. I'll be glad to work something out with you. I think I will be OK without instructions, just need the plans to help with layout.
No, no core saddles. I guess I will have to use contact cement and good flat table to sheet them. I have done this before, and it works OK. I had a set once that has a "sag" from one end to the other. If I would have sheeted them in the cores I would have had a "gull" wing..
Thanks
Terry

terry, i can't tell if you got an early kit or a latter one, looks like yours has a white gelcoat.when i got my west craft b-17 the fuse was one piece came by yellow freight, the wings were not covered but had thecnacelle boxes and firewalls installed as well as the spars were drilled and nuts secured for the romovable wing tips.my fuselage has diaganal braging running the lenth to stiffen it and reduce flexing and mine is just plain grren no gel coat.mine had no plans either just hand written notes in pencil on the leading and trailling edges.this kits very in finished weight from the middle 20 pound to over 50 pounds.i am using four fox 40 engines and retracts hope to be under 30 pounds.i know alot of guys use 90 4 strokes but can't afford the price of four.the 4 foxes cost less than single 90.my b-24 is overpowerd at 14 pounds with 4 old os 25 circa 1978 pre fsr/fp series

Yes, it has the gelcoated fuse and cowls, The nacelles are not. I am missing the nose glazing, but Dymanic Balsa actually has that in stock for this plane. I ordered it today. The wing cores have all the spar troughs cut in them, but nothing is assembled, except a couple items that appear to part of the spar system. There are also 2 plates that look like maybe part of the gear mounts, and finally some weird looking assemblies tha look like bases for some blisters, or some thing. Anybody recognize any of the assemblies?
