Default NEW CAR OR NEW RADIO?

ok so after about 7 years of having my nitro rc in the closet i pulled it out. to my surprise it had no motor or anything left in it. i took it to the local hobby shop and was told it was worth fixing cuz its a discontinued car and would be a good project. so after about 300 bucks its finally up and together. its an old hpi nitro racer 2. now i was warned to be easy with it cuz if i crash it certain parts might be hard to get for it. my question to you guys is should i buy another onroad car or buggy or should i replace my old cx2p radio? please along with your suggestions tell me models and names as i havent been into this hobby for many years. any suggestions are greatly appreciated. i had purchased an m11 but returned it cuz i had no idea the guy was selling it without the rx and tx units. so now im kinda happy cuz i can get opinions on this

A 2nd car is always a good idea

Seriously, how far do you plan on taking this hobby? Do you want something to burn a couple of hours scattered though out the week or do you want to have your new house look like a hobby shop [sm=greedy.gif]

I bought a good radio because I knew I was planning on having multiple vehicles - saves space & hastle down the line by having only 1 radio w/ matching receivers for all the RC's.

Now out of the 5 vehicles I have, only 1 is a runner [&o]
- Broke 2 monster trucks over the weekend
- Building a semi, waiting for slower motor because I didn't plan that well ahead before I started the project
- Converting Nito to Electric - not very high on my list of priorities

honestly i have no idea. i have more hobbies than the average person. some i stick with others jus pile up in the house. one thing i know is lie to buy things once and the right way. from what ive seen it can get pretty expensive but i guess even if it ends up jus keepin me entertained for the summer its well worth it

There are so many choices on the market today, so let's start with some basic questions first:

Do you want to on-road or off-road?
Slow or fast?
RTR (ready to run) or Kit (put together yourself)?
Electric (quite) or Nitro (loud)?

on or off i dunno. i love the onroad but the off road seems to be a lil more diverse. i assume u can pretty much throw em anywhere and u can drive.

slow or fast i prefer the fast ones.

rtr or kit. it would definately have to be a kit

electric or nitro def nitro all the way.

The offroad ones you can pretty much throw anywhere and drive. Check out the HPI Nitro MT2 18SS+, its a fast 4x4 nitro kit.

Get you a savage x. It's the toughest truck out there, and will go anywhere too! It's 1/8 scale.

Baja 5b ss if you got the cash. You'd have to be nuts not to get a total thrill out of bashing one.

I own a 1/5 scale (Petrol). I owned nitros for about 4-5 years. I got this 1/5 scale and love it. All my other cars pretty much just sit. I love the fact that the engine is not picky. I didn't even need to tune it out of the box. I have no need for tools. Just the buggy and the remote. No glow plug igniter or anything. Just pull the pull start 2 times and there she goes. If you have the money go with the HPI Baja 5B SS. It is a kit. All though you will need to buy a nice radio system (Hopefully 2.4 ghz).

Overall: If you have the money go after a 1/5th scale. Guaranteed fun.

No, were both wrong. He said there were pics of it but he just got an empty box. A tx is a tx.

HPI baja 5B SS I would say is the best. Because technically I own one. But mine is a clone. Also mine I did not get to build. I paid $535 (prices have gone up though) vs. $900. So I'm happy. Although I have put quite a lot of money into it though.

Get a HPI 5B SS. You will not be disappointed for the money. Plus I've heard it's fun to build.
