Props for gassers
I have the TF giant scale corsair, G62 engine.
I'm using a TF 20x8-14 prop because it was recommended to me.
Can someone explain the 8-14 part of the prop size?
I'm used to a 20x10 lets say, does the 8-14 refer to pitch as 14" by the hub because it travels less distance, and 8" at the tip because it travels a longer and faster path at the tip?
Is this better than say the 20x10 prop?

RE: Props for gassers
the prop has the lower pitch near the hub, because there it has to operate in near-stagnant air in front of the cowl.
It also saves the prop maker a lot of wood, because the billet can be a heap flatter!

Pete S-RCU,
I use to use a XOAR 22X10 prop on my G62 but have since switched to a Top Flite 22X6X10 prop. With the XOAR 22X10 prop I was having trouble slowing the plane down on landings and the 22X6X10 prop helped plus it pulls as good as the 22X10 and best of all it makes a great sound in the air. With the XOAR 22X10 prop I was getting 7000 rpm and with the TF I'm only getting 6500 rpm but the power seems the same and once again it makes a great sound in the air.

RE: Props for gassers
Thanks for the answers guys.
I have the engine in a TF giant scale corsair.
I also have an APC 20x10 I was going to use for breakin, I may try that till I can get a new prop.
The corsair seems hop a bit on landing, would the 20x8-14 slow it down more for landing or would the 20x10 be better?
The two props look a lot different, more blade area on the 20x8-14.
