Default T-maxx spring and air filter upgrade?

Hey Guys

I was looking for stiffer springs for my t-maxx I only bash and found the traxxas progressive rate springs (white ones). I was wonder if anybody has em and like em. or should i put a thicker shock oil wt like 50-60.
Also i want to upgrade my stock 2.5r air filter and get the traxxas 3.3 2 stage filter. I was wonder if this a good idea. As far a tuning goes i will have to richen up a bit right with a better air filter.

Thanks

have you changed the shock pistons out and tried different weight oil? Trinity makes good springs. as for the filter, get a motorsaver. you will love it.

stock they are setup with the 2 hole, Im running 3 hole pistons with 40 weight oil but Im running heavy duty springs (1 at each corner) along with the big bore shocks with the same piston and oil on the inside of each corner. I would try heavier springs with the same piston and oil you have now and just test it out.

Springs wont keep it from bottoming out, you need thicker oil in the shocks (assuming there is any in there now... its surprising how many people run their trucks with no oil in the shocks not realising it...) and/or less/smaller holes in the pistons. Traxxas big bore shocks would be a good way to go... also titanium skids would be smart....

Hold the truck at waist level and drop it. If it bottoms out, check your shock oil!

I also use a motor-saver, and trinity springs. I'm running the light blue springs with 35wt oil. Motor-savers are
top shelf, I won't run an R/C car without one![sm=thumbs_up.gif]

+1 for the filter!! I agree on getting a motorsaver filter; I got one, and at first I was a little reluctant to put it on my truck because Ive had problems with their filters in the past; however I decided to give it a shot again just for the heck of it; and as it turns out im glad I did, because it seems like it has helped to increase the overall power output a bit.[8D]
