RC car sound systems
Thinking about trying to add some sound to either my crawler or drift car. Curios to hear what some of you think about the idea..... Ive learned of a local company that makes sound systems for trains and am wondering if i could adapt something and have like a V8 sound or my ipod coming from my trail crawler. Could be cool, maybe someones already done it i dont know.

RE: RC car sound systems
you could buy one of those little amped speakers and hook your ipod for music in the drifter
the tamiya units cant be beat though sound wise and build wise first time i heard the airbrakes on a semi and hearing a tiger1 maybauch engine crank over was just awesome[8D][8D]

RE: RC car sound systems
I was thinking of getting a tiny little MP3 player or something and hooking it up to some speakers in one of my cars for the heck of it but well see what happens, the only deal is getting something tiny/loud enough to get the job done over the noise of the car. Granted if the car is quiet, that's another story

RE: RC car sound systems
as long as u use the right amp and decent speaker it should be fine,if you use the wrong size amp it will just make the speaker buzz tried that on one of those clip mini gutiar amps and a mp3 player a while ago,i like the tanks guys using a system where you can change sounds etc

Small, cheap, and totally self-contained: http://cgi.ebay.com/Mobile-Speaker-M...-/260662145785
Ditto: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Blue-MP3-Pla...-/280562177204
One more: http://cgi.ebay.com/Mobile-phone-Spe...-/290474210234
I can't vouch for the build or sound quality on any of these (probably marginal at best), but you're not exactly going to get thumping base out of anything that will fit in a 1:10 drift car.
