has anybody ever heard of redcat racing and are they track worthy

Do a search, there are so many threads about Redcat. As to your question, no, they are not track worthy. Poorly built with almost zero parts support.

they have been around for a while now but are known for being cheap not alot of stores carry parts for them and you get what you pay for

I think the only disadvantages that I heard are that they are more entry level (targeted towards beginners) and unlike the more well known brands like HPI,TRAXXAS,LOSI,ASSOCIATED, etc Redcat parts are mostly available through online stores and I have heard that people do in fact race them.
I have owned a couple Redcats and I have had no more problems than I have with my HPI Savage XSS,Traxxas S Maxx, and Traxxas 4X4 Slash.
I have only been in this hobby for a year and have figured out that no matter what brand you get; they are all going to break parts and have issues that's what the hobby is about.
The Monsoon and the Avalanche are Redcats best that they have to offer; in fact I might purchase an Avalanche myself.

 yeah i am new to the hobby myself and ive had the redcat shockwave for one year and no major problems so i think i will upgrade to the monsoon and keep on bashing

Otis, Redcat is not the bargain they seem to be, ESPECIALLY with the 1/8 cars. The Monsoon isn't far from the Ofna Hyper ST and the Thunder Tiger ST-1 price-wise, and both of them are competitive race trucks that are light years ahead in quality.

REDCAT makes great proline RC's. I own Monsoon, Avalanche, and my latest is an Backdraft 3.5. My LHS carries parts and they hold up fine. Parts are very cheap so they make for a great basher. You could always spend abit more and invest in aluminum parts. REDCAT well worth the prices.

also, support for REDCATS is as good as it gets.

If someone tries to steer you away from REDCAT then they probably need to pull their head out of the their ass.

Maybe try owning one of the higher end RC's that cost like only $30-40 more and you will probably not be saying those words again.

Not seen very many unhappy OFNA owners(actually I've seen none personally), seen a quite a few unhappy redcat owners.

And how someone claims a savage has as many issues as a redcat is beyond my comprehension other than seeing he said XSS he has the k4.6 in it, which is not know for being a good engine.

I'd listen to TBJ on this he's owned redcats, along with quite a few other RC's.
