Futaba 3PM-fs Radio question?
hi...
i'm interested in this radio for my ntc3, but....
my question is why is this radio designed for monster trucks? is it a bad idea to get this radio for my ntc3 and instead get a jr xs3 synthesized or the airtronics mx3-s.
thanks,
Sinny Gun

They're just marketing it to Monster Truckers. It's actually a ver good radio for any application. The one that comes with a servo is a good all around steering servo.
However I don't think it's actually available yet. Futaba pulled it because they are affraid it's going to eat into the sales of the 3pk and they still have some 3pdf-x radio left they wanna sell.

RE: Futaba 3PM-fs Radio question?
I talked to a dealer at my LHS and he stated that one of his stores recieved 6 radios already (3PM-FS). A while back, maybe two months ago a Futaba Rep. told me they pulled them for what ever reason I dont know but what Tracer says makes sence. I'm going back this week to confirm it and pick one up, I'll let you guys know how it is.

RE: Futaba 3PM-fs Radio question?
i was really interested in buying this radio... it was in the catalogue from greathobbies.com and it's on their website, but i called them and they said it was on backorder from the supplier. so i ended up getting a 3pk....it's not synthesized but it's a damn sweet radio. no frequency conflicts yet at the local track. (knock on wood) i was also worried about people saying something to me about that radio if i got it if it was available...."DUDE!!! thats a monster truck radio!!! you can't use that for your ntc3." haha

The radio is good for any R/C car I'd say, even though it has setups for the Savage and TMaxx you can utilize every setting for any setup be it car or truck on or off road. I was actually going to go ahead and pick up the 3PM-FM (non syntehsized) but I decided to wait and low and behold my LHS has a few...... I actually recommended this radio for my brothers car, a Nitro TC3. He still has the stock radio and is considering an upgrade and that radio can handle any car setup.

RE: Futaba 3PM-fs Radio question?
I talked to a LHS manager. He said that he talked to Futaba and they have two problems.
A warehouse of 3PKs that havn't sold as fast as they were hoping and some 3PDF-Xs left in stores.
So they're waiting until their supply of 3PKs go down sufficiently before they release the 3PM-FS.
I've also heard a rumour that there will be a version of the 3PK Black version with Synth module. Probably won't be available in N/A until next year sometime though.
As it stands we probably won't see the 3PM-FS until the end of the season.

ORIGINAL: q8
its still in the market all they did is change the name to 3PM-FM

3PM-FM is the same radio as the 3PM-FS in all ways but three.
1. the FS has a synthasized Transmitter
2. the FS has a synthasized Receiver
3. a slight cosmetic difference (colour cap or something)
the 3PM-FS is simply not available. the 3PM-FM is a cheaper crystal based version.
