As to not buying aluminum it depends on the company. If you get quality stuff it will outlast plastic ten fold. Which is why people say aluminum down the center and RPM at the corners.

RE: DUMB ASS TO NITRO
Here's a list of everything your going to want to get, replace the parts as they break with the upgraded ones, stock Tmaxxes break a lot (at least mine did till I upgraded it)

http://shop.rc-solutions.com/T-Maxx-...e-Rear-014.htm
http://www.neweramodels.com/item.cgi...mp;part_id=164
you should also invest in some quality screws, i like this set:
http://www.tonysscrews.com/product.s...;categoryId=61
And I recommend the combo bulks from these people, but, the regular ones are good too
http://www.fastlanemachine.net/products.php?cat=23
Stay away from integy they suck, and like I said, Upgrade the parts one at a time as they break. With mine i found i broke a lot of gas tanks, A-arms, Bulkheads, and drive shafts so I bought stuff with free replacement warranty's as much as I could (Rpm, Fastlane), also thats not nesacarrily the best stuff you can buy for atmaxx, but it all takes a bashing fairly well, also Rc soultins has realy nice roll cages I hear are worth investing into

RE: DUMB ASS TO NITRO
I wouldn't mess with mip cvds, they are open and will wear fast, especially if they get wet. If you want cvd go to traxxas and get the center cvd. You don't really need the outer ones. Aluminum skids are nice, but another thing I wouldn't get, because they will bend and wear. You should get aluminum bulkheads and rpm arms first, with lunsford hinge pins and rpm shock towers. Just watch the shock towers they flex and can damage your manifold in a crash. Mine has a picco and the manifold isn't that close to it.

RE: DUMB ASS TO NITRO
Mip's don't wear fast, Ive had mIne for like a year now, beat them, and had no problems with them, Now the traxxas Cvcd's are complete crap, they lasted me about a month, the skids are spring steel, so they dont bend-I aggree dont bother with aluminum, but as i said, they are spring steel, so they bounce off of stuff, and if you dont use a metal skid plate you will snap off the bulkheads where they mount to the top of the chassis, Ive had lots of experience breaking my tmaxx, and fixing it with various parts, Ive tried almost every brand of parts out there, and the ones I posted are the ones Ive found to be most durable, so im not just talking out of my ass

RE: DUMB ASS TO NITRO
I would never put steel skids on my maxx, they're heavy and completely un-necessary IMO.Aluminum bulkheads and chassis braces are about all the aluminum that's needed IMO. Traxxas cvds are booted, they last longer, it's pretty obvious....I've got them on mye maxx brushless (center) and theycan take anything that truck will dish out.
( "I am so done breaking this damb truck" ) No you're not lol, that's completely impossible.
( "Can you guys think of anything i am missing???????" )
Jake maybe you should look into getting an engine? All those goodies but you still have a 2.5? Run what you want but that thing is gonna be slow.

RE: DUMB ASS TO NITRO
According to their website their spring steel Skids are the same weight as aluminum ones "Our skid plates are .042" thick, (the same weight as 1/8" aluminum and .060" titanium),",
and they work better than any other kind out there (Ive tired aluminum, plastic, and titanium, the springiness lets them bounce off of stuff, rather than
I still stand by that the Mip cvds are better unless you are dumb and let them rust, just because Traxxas ones have a boot doesnt mean they will last longer, Im sure I could rig up a boot for the Mip ones if I really felt like it, im sure the traxxas center ones work fine, as they don't have to move up and down, the stock plastic center drive shafts lasted me months and months, so Im pretty sure any center drive Cvd would work fine (probally even integy) like I said I killed my traxxas Cvd's (the wheel drive ones) in about a month, they were complete crap and a waste of my money
