Slow flying aerobat
I saw a guy really wring out a Diablotin over the weekend. I REALLY liked the plane. It kinda flew like a Morris plane in slow motion. What I'm wondering is-
What plane/s are the best for slow, in close 3D manuevers?
I loved the really light wing loading. I put trainers to shame in the float department. I'd like to keep it under $150 for an ARF. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Scott

I'm not really that good at 3D stuff yet, but have had a lot of compliments on my Magic, from guys who've flown it. At $99 for an ARF, it seems like a good deal!

The diablotin (and similar ones - no limit 3d, madness, seduction FS WS, etc) floats a LOT more than the profiles, in fact they are very very dificult to stall to enter an elevator for example because of the ridiculous wing loading, also the long tail is powerfull and in low rates it is posible to do kind of slow motion pattern; I really like the profiles but these kind of planes have the best of both worlds, also with less than 5 lbs with a 46fx has more than enough power to exit straight up from a TR... do I told you that I love this planes?

How does the Magic 3D compare to the Diablotin in regards to float? It is amazing how much more float the Diablotin has in comparison to a Profile. I REALLY liked the way this plane flew. I just don't have an extra $300 to burn at the moment. Plus, I'd rather learn to 3D and push the envelope on a cheaper bird.

magic, slowest by far
No matter what the "Morris Fanatics" say, if doing low slow arobatics is what your looking for nothing will fly slower than a Magic. (Key word is fly here, not hanging on the prop). For the same reason the 3D and Fun-Fly purists bad mouth the Magic, is what makes it so good in slow flight. It doesn't have a semetrical air foil. Outside manuveurs are sloppy and it won't knife edge at all. But at 3.5 to 3.8 pounds and that huge fat Clark Y wing, this thing can fly (and do aerobatics) at walking speed. And for a $99 ARF you can't beat the value.
