Long Standoffs for DA 50 on a DV
I am waiting for my DV to get shipped to me and was thinking, Why cut a hole in the firewall when longer standoffs can be used to mount the engine? Then I realized that this may interfere with the cowl or maybe something else. Can you please let me know if I can use 3 1/4 standoffs to mount the DA50 on the DV, or would this cause a problem with another aspect of the plane?

I'd have to check mine to be sure, but I don't think you'd be able to mount the cowl with the engine that far out. Maybe take a quick measurement to be sure.
